We accept flash fiction, short stories, non-fiction, and poems. Submission is open year-round. Please read the guidelines before submitting to thegilperezsubmission@gmail.com

Submission guideline:

-For flash fiction, out sweet spot is between 100-700 words. For poems, the line number should be below 40 lines; typographic choices are welcomed.

-For short story and non-fiction, the word count should be around 1000-3000 words.

-We are quite inclusive about what count as "19 century vibe". For example: diction, style, theme, setting, allusion, title, etc... However, we will easily reject any piece that does not contain any reference to We take a broad and inclusive approach to what count as “19th-century vibe.” This can include elements such as diction, style, theme, setting, allusion, title, etc... However, we will definitely reject any piece that lacks any engagement to our theme.

-All submission are send to thegilperezsubmission@gmail.com with tittle: "(name), (poetry/flash fiction/short story/nonfiction), (name of the piece)". Please include your writing in the body of the email. Please also add a third person bio (<75 words) in the email.

-Please also include a brief rationale for why your work aligns with our journal's theme and how it reflects the "19th century" style.

-When a work is selected, we ask the author to provide a public domain painting to accompany their writing.

-We do not believe in silent rejection. Our response time is around one week, but mostly we reply within two day.

-We do not consider AI generated works. We also do not consider writings that contain explicit sexual/gore images.

-We asks for first electronic rights, non-exclusive archival rights, and non-exclusive excerpt rights (means that we can display your writing on social media accounts) to any piece accepted for publication.
